The Daisy Flower: Its meanings and Symbolism

"(S)he loves me, (s)he loves me not."

Who among us hasn't plucked the petals of a daisy, saying those words and with each tug, hoping the last petal reveals a  YES!  S(he) loves me!

I certainly did as a child.  And there it is... one symbolic meaning of a daisy - 'childhood, innocence and purity'.

The daisy has also been seen as a symbol of love, sensuality, and fertility - an aspect of motherhood and childbirth.

Ultimately, the daisy message is one of hope and renewal: representing the purity and innocence of a newborn infant and the new beginnings and true love a mother feels for her child.
